According to an SMS statement, this comprises a 120-mt ladle furnace with slewing gantry as well as two tank degassing units (VD and VOD). The aim of OMZ is to increase steel production to 600,000 mt per year. Ingots up to a weight of 500 mt can be realized by means of the ladle metallurgical center.
