SMS Meer to supply wire rod production line for Chinese steelmaker

German plantmaker SMS Meer has announced that it will supply a wire rod production line for the wire rod mill of Shanxi Province-based Chinese steelmaker Xinjiang Gaoyi Smelting Co. Ltd (Xinjiang Gaoyi). The maximum production capacity of the new wire rod outlet will be is 120 mt per hour, enabling Gaoyi to achieve a higher productivity than with conventional lines.

The new wire rod production line with an annual capacity of 700,000 mt will produce wire rods ranging from 5.5 mm to 16 mm in diameter and rebars with diameters from 6 mm to 16 mm.
 
With the commissioning of the new line scheduled for the second quarter of 2012, Xinjiang Gaoyi will be able to produce high-quality products.
