Slight increase in Outotec’s order intake for 2012

Finnish mining and metal manufacturing equipment provider Outotec has issued its financial results for the fourth quarter and the full year 2012.

According to the financial results, in the fourth quarter the operating profit of Outotec increased to €74.9 million, up 53.2 percent year on year, while its sales revenues rose 31 percent to €649.8 million compared to the same quarter of the previous year. Meanwhile, Outotec's order intake was €471.2 million in October-December, rising by 44 percent year on year.

For the full year 2012, Outotec registered an operating profit of €184.3 million, up 64.7 percent compared to the previous year. The company's sales in the given period increased by 50.6 percent year on year to €2.08 billion, while its order intake stood at €2.08 billion, up four percent compared to 2011.

Regarding the market outlook for 2013, Outotec expects its sales to grow moderately to approximately €2.1-2.3 billion compared to 2012, due to only slightly higher order intake in 2012. The company plans to continue to
