Global metal recycler Sims Group Limited (Sims) has announced the acquisition of the assets of Weinert Recycling, a ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal recycler with operations in Middletown and Liberty, New York.

The financial terms of the deal, including price, were not disclosed by the parties.

The acquisition is in line with Sims' strategy to expand the geographical access of its metals business.

As previously reported by SteelOrbis, in line with this strategy, Sims last week acquired a 70 percent stake in Silver Dollar Recycling in Las Vegas and completed its acquisition of UK-based regional metal recycler C. Herring & Son Limited.

Sims, whose core businesses are metal recycling and recycling solutions, has over 230 operations globally.
