Austria-based plantmaker Siemens VAI Metals Technologies has announced that Chinese steelmaker Zhangjiagang Hongchang Plate Co., a subsidiary of China's Jiangsu-based Shagang Group, has ordered two twin-ladle furnaces for its new converter steelworks in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu Province.

Each of the two twin-ladle furnaces has a capacity of 180 tons and will be installed in the new Zhangjiagang Hongchang converter steelworks. Both converters are scheduled for commissioning in the spring of 2013. Siemens will supply key mechanical and electrical components and provide support services for the installation and commissioning.
