Austria-based giant engineering and plantmaking company Siemens VAI Metals Technologies (Siemens VAI) has announced the receipt of an order from German steel producer Hoesch Hohenlimburg GmbH, a company belonging to ThyssenKruppSteel AG, to modernize the company's medium-strip rolling mill.
According to a statement released by Siemens, the project in question involves renewing the basic and process automation systems of the medium-strip mill and the servo-hydraulic control equipment for the roughing stand. The order is worth several million euros. The project is part of a multiple-stage modernization program and is scheduled to be completed in spring 2012.
