Shuman Mukherjee takes commercial director chair on SAIL board

Indian steel giant Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has announced that Shuman Mukherjee has taken over as commercial director on the board of SAIL with effect from December 23, 2010.

According to a SAIL release, Mukherjee, an honours economics graduate from St. Stephens College, Delhi and a chartered accountant, has experience in the field of marketing of steel and has held several important positions during his over 33 years of service with SAIL. Prior to the current position, Mukherjee was executive director (marketing - flat products) at SAIL's marketing headquarters at Kolkata.

Mr. Mukherjee has represented India at the Organization of Economic Co-operation & Development (OECD) Steel Committee Conference on three occasions, and at Paris as a member of the Indian delegation on behalf of the Ministry of Steel and SAIL.
