In August this year, the two 5,500 m3 blast furnaces of China-based steelmaker Shougang Group's subsidiary Shougang Jingtang United Iron & Steel Co. produced 612,590 mt of pig iron, 12,590 mt more than planned.

Since July 2010, the No.1 blast furnace of Shougang Jingtang had recorded unstable pig iron outputs due to technical problems. With the resolution of these problems, Shougang Jingtang succeeded in increasing its pig iron output in August this year.
