On March 30, Chinese steelmaker Shougang Jingtang Corporation successfully put its new 1,580 mm hot rolled coil line into production.
Construction work on the project for the 1,580 mm hot rolled line, which has a designed annual output of 3.9 million mt, commenced in March 2008. The major steel types the new line will produce include carbon structural steel, low-alloy structural steel, electrical steel, steel for containers, weathering steel, pipeline steel, automotive structural steel, silicon steel, IF steel, dual-phase steel, multi-phase steel, transformation-induced plasticity steel and others. Product thickness will be in a range of 1.2-12.7 mm, with widths of 700-1,450 mm.
