Shougang issues unchanged longs prices for Jan.

On December 27, Shougang announced unchanged long product prices for January 2008. The details are as follows:

1. Wire rod prices remain at December levels. The price of 6.5 mm diameter Q235 high speed wire rod is still at RMB 4,330/mt ($593/mt).

2. Rebar prices have also remained constant. The new ex-factory price of 16-25 mm diameter HRB 335 rebar is RMB 4,330/mt ($593/mt); the price of 12-14 mm is RMB 4,480/mt ($614/mt); finally, the price of > 28 mm diameter is RMB 4,350/mt ($596/mt). 16-25 mm diameter HRB 400 rebar costs RMB 4,460/mt ($611/mt); 12-14 mm is now at RMB 4,610/mt ($632/mt); finally, the ex-factory price of > 28 mm diameter is RMB 4,530/mt ($621/mt).

All the above prices include 17 percent VAT and are effective as of January 1, 2008.
