Peru are still on strike asking for an increase in their salaries.
On August 31, 1,124 workers at the only mine in
Peru which is operated by Shougang Hierro
Peru launched a strike claiming higher salaries and better working conditions. The strike has caused a temporary halt of the mine's operations.

Peru's Ministry of Mines which has become involved in the case.
