Shougang Group issues production targets for H2

Issuing its production plan for the second half of 2010, Chinese steel producer Shougang Group has stated that it intends to lower costs, expand its product mix and improve product quality, as it targets outputs of 1 million mt each for automotive steel (including 0.5 million mt of auto plate), pipeline steel and shipbuilding plate.

Meanwhile, according to the website of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Beijing municipality, Shougang Group is implementing work aimed at halting production at major facilities in Beijing by the end of 2010, while it plans to further develop facilites in Shougang industrial zone.
