Sheffield appoints committee for acquisition proposals

Sheffield Steel Corporation announced today that its Board of Directors has received offers to acquire the company by two separate parties. The Board has established a special committee of three independent directors to evaluate these proposals and to negotiate terms of these or any future proposals. The special committee has solicited Lane, Berry & Co. International LLC as its financial advisor and has begun reviewing the proposals. Sheffield Steel is a mini mill producer of SBQ and MBQ hot rolled bars as well as concrete reinforcing bar and fabricated products.
