Shaogang completes hot run test on converter No. 5

Guangdong Province-based Chinese steel producer Shaogang Iron and Steel Group has announced that its steelmaking unit has carried out a successful hot run test on its new converter No. 5.
 
The converter applies technology and equipment developed by CISDI Group Co., a subsidiary of Beijing-based state-owned China Metallurgical Group. The new converter is environmentally friendly and will play an important role in reducing Shaogang's energy consumption.
