Shanxi Province to raise coal output capacity by 100 million mt in 2012

As announced by the coal industry bureau of China's Shanxi Province, in the current year a total of 100 coal mines in the province are to be rebuilt through the implementation of technological innovation, resulting in an increase of 100 million mt in the province's annual coal output capacity.

Up to the end of April, construction or reconstruction work on 59 coal mines was completed, with the newly-added annual coal output capacity reaching 76.50 million mt. In addition, at the end of April Shanxi Province started reconstruction work with implementation of technological innovation at a total of 663 coal mines.

In 2011, Shanxi produced 872 million mt of coal, 581 million mt of which was sold outside of the province.
