Shanxi Coking to produce 3.2 million mt of coke in 2015

Shanxi Province-based Chinese coke producer Shanxi Coking Group Company has announced that it produced 3.1894 million mt of coke in 2014, up 1.17 percent year on year, while it sold 3.4034 million mt of coke in the given year, up 2.54 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, the company plans to produce 3.2 million mt of coke in 2015, while it plans to achieve an equivalent coke sales volume.

Shanxi Coking Group Company has also issued its preliminary financial report for the first quarter of the current year, stating that it expects to register a net loss of RMB 88 million ($14.2 million) for the given quarter, compared to a net profit of RMB 5.5158 million in the corresponding quarter last year.
 
Shanxi Coking Group Company stated in its report that coke prices have indicated sharp declines in the first quarter, while transaction activity has been sluggish. However, prices of coal, the main raw material, have decreased at a slower rate than prices of coke, impacting the company's profitability in the given period.
