Shandong cuts 8.83 million mt of crude steel capacity in five years

Wang Xin, deputy director of the Economics and Information Commission of China’s Shandong Province, has announced that the province eliminated 2.7 million mt of pig iron capacity and 2.7 million mt of crude steel capacity in 2016.

Over the past five years, Shandong has eliminated 4.274 million mt of pig iron capacity and 8.83 million mt of crude steel capacity.
