Shahroud Steel commences pre-heating furnace

The Iranian steel producer Shahroud Steel, located on Shahroud-Damghan road, northeasten part of the country, has recently put into operation its pre-heating furnace. 

The plant, which has been built with an initial investment of Rial 68 billion ($3.34 million), is to produce 150,000 metric tons of finished steel products annually, such as debar, in the first phase.  

The main equipment for the plant was supplied by Italian company VAI Pomini at the cost of Rial 70 billion ($3.55 million). Meanwhile, the contracts for the supply of some structural and heavy equipment were awarded to Iranian local manufacturers.
