SGIS Songshan invests RMB 350 million in new coke oven

On March 28, Guangdong Province-based Chinese steel rolling and processing company SGIS Songshan Co., a subsidiary of Guangdong-based Chinese steel producer Shaoguan Iron and Steel Co. (Shaogang), announced that it plans to launch 69 construction projects with a total investment of RMB 2.262 billion ($0.36 billion). Of this total, SGIS Songshan will invest RMB 1.687 billion ($0.27 billion) in backward capacity elimination, product structure optimization and industrial upgrading.
 
Of the projects in question, SGIS Songshan has most recently launched construction of a six meter coke oven and supporting facilities, with an investment of RMB 350 million ($55.56 million). Construction of the coke oven is scheduled to be completed in September 2013.
