On November 26, Guangdong Province-based Chinese steel rolling and processing company SGIS Songshan Co., a subsidiary of Guangdong-based Chinese steel producer Shaoguan Iron and Steel Co. (Shaogang), carried out a successful hot run test on its new 70-180 mm round bar production line which has a designed annual capacity of 670,000 mt. as stated by Beijing-based state-owned China Metallurgical Group Co. (MCC). Construction work on SGIS Songshan’s overall round bar project is being carried out by Sichuan-based China MCC5 Group, a subsidiary of MCC.
The second phase of the project will consist of an alloy steel 20-80 mm round bar production line with a planned annual output capacity of 460,000 mt. Upon completion of the overall project, total annual output capacity will be 1.13 million mt.
