SGIS posts net loss of RMB 229 million for H1

Guangdong Province-based Chinese steelmaker Shaoguan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd (SGIS), has announced an operating revenue of RMB 5.783 billion ($0.87 billion) for the first half of the current year, up 4.59 percent year on year, with a net loss of RMB 229 million ($34.28 million) compared to the net loss of RMB 880 million recorded in the same period of 2015.
 
In the first half of the current year, SGIS produced 2.76 million mt of pig iron, 2.71 million mt of crude steel and 2.63 million mt of finished steel, indicating respective year-on-year increases of 11.74 percent, 10.16 percent and 12.88 percent.
