SFIL supplies equipment to Severstal

The international engineering company Sheffield Forgemasters International Ltd (SFIL) has announced the conclusion of an £11.5 million-worth ($23.2 million) equipment supply agreement with the Russian steelmaker Severstal.

Under the terms of the deal, SFIL will supply Severstal with 596 work rolls and 26 back-up rolls over a two-year period to be installed at Severstal's Cherepovets mill for the production of high-quality sheet for Russia's car and truck manufacturing industries.

Commenting on the deal, SFIL's senior sales manager Mr. Ken Brooks said, "This contract forms part of a continued development of business between SFIL and Severstal".

Currently, SFIL provides 70 percent of whole steel roll equipment used in Severstal.
