Severstal’s Cherepovets Steel Mill increases deliveries to Russian pipemakers

Russian steelmaker Severstal has announced that its Cherepovets Steel Mill, part of the Severstal Russian Steel Division, increased deliveries to Russian pipemaking companies by five percent year on year in 2011.
 
More than 700,000 mt of plate was produced on the wide-strip rolling mill at Severstal's No. 3 sheet rolling shop in the Kolpino district, St. Petersburg. About 70 percent of the products from this rolling mill were sent to the Izhora Pipe Mill.
 
In 2011, orders from Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling Plant significantly increased and 30,000 mt of plate was sent to the plant. Cherepovets also supplied plate to Volzhsky Pipe Mill and Vyksun Metallurgical Plant. Apart from pipemakers, companies in the machine-building industry such as Uralmashzavod (the Uralmash Plant), Izhorskiye Zavody (Izhora Plants), Caterpillar TOSNO and Siloviye Mashiny (Power Machines) accounted for 80,000 mt of products shipped in 2011.
