Severstal’s Cherepovets mill increases rolled steel shipments to automakers

Russian steelmaker Severstal has announced that its Cherepovets Steel Mill, a part of its Russia-based steel division, increased deliveries of rolled steel to the automobile industry of Russia and the CIS by 15 percent year on year in the first 10 months of the current year.

In the January-October period, the Cherepovets mill shipped 4.7 times more rolled steel products on year-on-year to KAMAZ Group, the largest automobile corporation in the Russian Federation. In the given period, its rolled steel deliveries to GAZ Group, the leading manufacturer of commercial vehicles in Russia, increased by 15 percent year on year.

Severstal is the main supplier of rolled steel for Renault-Nissan in Russia, meeting close to 88 percent of its requirements.
