Severstal-Vtormet, a scrap processing subsidiary of the Russian steelmaker Severstal, has won a license for the recycling of 3,709 metric tons of military waste from the Leningrad military district.

The waste consists of both ferrous and non-ferrous metals and therefore will be sorted into these two categories of scrap.

Although recycling of military waste is a rather difficult task, Severstal-Vtormet, as one of the main scrap processors in Russia, has all the necessary equipment to work with this type of scrap, the company's general director Andrei Pavlov stated.
