The Russian company Sererstal-Metiz, a subsidiary company of Severstal, sent a commentary letter to the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine regarding the anti-dumping investigations hearing, which was held on April 21, against Ukrainian imports of steel cables and ropes from Russian Federation. In the commentary letter, the company implies that the data presented by Silur and Stalkanat, Ukrainian main producers of steel ropes and cables and initiators of the AD investigations, regarding their volumes of production and sales as well as the profit from sales contradict with the information received from the other sources. In particular, the letter accentuated the attention to the fact that Russian export of steel ropes and cables to Ukraine is not likely to negatively affect the price of these products in the Ukrainian market, since the export volumes are insignificant in comparison with the volumes of cable and ropes productions and sales of Silur and Stalkanat. The company hopes that Ukrainian Ministry of Economy would take in consideration the new proofs and stop the AD investigations against imports of steel ropes and cables from Russia.
