Severstal to supply steel for car parts to Ford Sollers

Russian steelmaker Severstal will supply Ford Sollers with galvanized rolled steel to be used in the production of 30 car parts used in various Ford models that will be manufactured in Russia in 2014, according to the company's statement.

The rolled steel will be supplied for cutting face and non-face blank parts that are stamped at Gestamp-Severstal-Vsevolozhsk (a joint venture of Severstal and Gestamp), Piterform (part of Magna Cosma International), and at Coskunoz, a Turkish company located in Tatarstan.
In Q1 2014, Severstal-SMC-Vsevolozhsk ("SMC"), a joint venture of Severstal and Japanese company Mitsui will launch the trial production of a welded blanking line and cut-to-length line (mini-CTL) from feed metal 0.4 mm to 2.3 mm thick.

SMC is located near the Gestamp-Severstal-Vsevolozhsk plant ensuring timely delivery of blank parts to the stamping facility. The company's customers will be Ford, Nissan, Toyota, General Motors and other international automobile companies, operating in Russia's northwestern region.
