Russian steelmaker Severstal has stated that it will purchase new roll-grinding machines to treat the rolls of the cold-rolling mill at its Cherepovets Steel Mill. The new equipment will be bought within the framework of the program for the reconstruction of the four-cage cold-rolling mill.

The fully automatic roll-grinding machines will enable the precise achievement of levels of surface treatment and the exact meeting of customers' requirements.

The supplier of the main equipment is Italian company Tenova S.p.A. The contract value for the purchase of machines will be about €4 million ($5.179 million), while in general the overall retooling will cost RUB 2 billion ($51.9 million).
