Severstal increases shipments to Russian shipbuilding sector in 2016

Russian steel producer Severstal has announced that it shipped more than 22,000 mt of steel to Russian shipbuilding companies in 2016, increasing by 34 percent compared to the previous year.

Severstal stated that it produces a full range of shipbuilding steels including high strength and cold-resistant steel products and steel for offshore drilling platforms and drilling rigs.

Severstal also stated that in 2016 it mastered the production of PC F500 W strength plate with 70 mm thickness used in the production of drilling platforms, icebreakers, ice-class vessels and offshore projects, and the products successfully passed the certification audits of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.
