Russia-based Severstal, one of the world's leading vertically integrated steel and steel-related mining companies, has announced that a scheduled overhaul has been completed at the sheet rolling plant of its Cherepovets Steel Mill.

In particular, the mill 5000 of the sheet rolling plant, the heating and continuous furnaces, the control station and the cutting-up lines have been updated.

With the upgrading of the rolling mill 5000, the operational life and the wear resistance of equipment will increase.

Severstal's rolling mill 5000 produces around 700,000 mt of steel plate per year for the needs of shipbuilding, the nuclear power industry, and the fuel and energy complex.
