Severstal Cherepovets sends test samples of rolled steel products to Nissan

Severstal Cherepovets, the main steel producing facility of Severstal Russian Steel, has announced that it has sent its first samples of galvanized cold rolled steel to the research and development center in Japan of multinational automaker Nissan Motor Company for tests of mechanical properties and constancy of chemical composition.

"The measure in question is in line with Severstal Cherepovets' long-term strategy of developing its relations with car industries. In addition, our company is also increasing the deliveries of test samples to other world automakers, so as to secure their approval for our new types of steel grades," Severstal Cherepovets' sales director Dmitry Gorshkov stated.

In 2008, Severstal Cherepovets supplied more than 3,000 mt of rolled steel products to Renault-Nissan for its Russian facility in Moscow.
