Severstal Cherepovets, the main steel producing facility of Severstal Russian Steel, has announced that in May this year it achieved a record output volume of converter steel, producing more than 850,000 mt.

Such results were possible to achieve following the repair work carried out in March-April this year, and due to the effective work of cooperating divisions which provide the plant's converter shop with pig iron, scrap, dolomite and lime. In addition, the high output results were also due to competently developed transport logistics and the work of the company's transport department for the delivery of raw materials to the plant and for shipment of finished products.

Moreover, according to the company's statement, the record was achieved in the context of production of important products for the country's strategic sectors, including the oil, gas and energy industry (the production of steel for the manufacture of pipes for Transneft's Eastern Siberia-Pacific Ocean oil pipeline project and Gazprom's Sakhalin-Khabarovsk-Vladivostok gas pipeline project), the automotive industry (AvtoVAZ, GAZ ,UAZ, GM Uzbekistan), and the white goods industry (Brestgazoapparat, Gazmash, AK LMZ, Atlant).
