Severstal Cherepovets, the main steel producing facility of Severstal Russian Steel, has announced that it plans quarterly supplies of about 5,000-20,000 mt of rolled steel products, including hot dip galvanized steel products for the front details of cars, to Iranian automobile producers such as Khodro and Saipa.

During the current times of low demand in the automobile sector, Severstal Cherepovets is also continuing its collaboration with Russian automobile producers under long-term agreements. Moreover, together with Volzhsky Automobile Works (VAZ), Severstal Cherepovets is implementing a program for the adoption of new and more effective steel products, such as the hot dip galvanized sheet produced at Severgal.

In 2008, Severstal Cherepovets delivered 950,000 mt of rolled steel products to the automobile industry.
