Scrap moves up further on Orbis Steel Index

In the week from April 18 to April 24, on the Orbis Steel Index the scrap indexes maintained their upward movement. In the given week, the Turkish rebar index moved upward again, while Turkish flat rolled product indexes indicated upward and sideways movement.
 
As per the Orbis Steel Index data, the index movements in the week from April 18 to April 24 as per product are as follows:
 
Turkish Scrap Index maintained its upward movement. The index value increased by 7.29 percent to 114.9 compared to the previous week. 
   
US (East Coast) HMS I/II Scrap Export Index rose by 9.05 percent to 134.71 compared to the previous week. 
   
Turkish Rebar Index continued to increase, with the index value moving up by 3.99 percent week on week to 114.76. 
 
Turkish HRC Index moved upwards. The index value rose by 3.97 percent to 75.64 compared to the previous week. 
 
Black Sea HRC Export Index maintained its upward movement, with the index value rising by 5.43 percent week on week to 81.87. 
    
Turkish HDG Index switched to sideways movement in the week in question, with the index value remaining at 82.65. 
 
Turkish CRC Index continued to increase in the given week. The index value rose by 2.56 percent to 82.19 compared to the previous week.   
 
*Explanations:
 
Turkish Scrap Index: based on the weighted average of prices published by SteelOrbis of domestic ferrous scrap purchased weekly by Turkish steel mills, and imported HMS 80/20 CFR Turkey.
 
Turkish Rebar Index: based on the weighted average of prices published by SteelOrbis of commercial quality deformed steel reinforcing bars produced and sold by Turkish mills and subsequently merchants, both in the domestic market on ex-warehouse basis and for export on FOB Turkey basis.
 
Turkish HRC Index: based on the weighted average of prices published by SteelOrbis of commercial quality HRC produced or imported, and then sold by Turkish mills on ex-warehouse basis.
