Scrap maintains downward movement on Orbis Steel Index

In the week from June 6 to June 12, on the Orbis Steel Index the scrap indexes continued to move downwards, while the Turkish rebar index maintained its downward movement and the Turkish flat rolled indexes showed either downward and sideways movement.
 
As per the Orbis Steel Index data, the index movements in the week from June 6 to June 12 as per product are as follows:
 
Turkish Scrap Index maintained its downward movement. The index value decreased by 8.18 percent to 91.99 compared to the previous week. 
   
US (East Coast) HMS I/II Scrap Export Index continued to move downward, with the index value falling 12.21 percent week on week to 104.94.
                                                                  
Turkish Rebar Index decreased for the fifth consecutive week. The index value declined by 2.89 percent to 93.41 compared to the previous week. 
 
Turkish HRC Index decreased by 6.09 percent to 76.15 compared to the previous week. 
 
Black Sea HRC Export Index followed a stable trend, with the index value remaining at 79.57. 
 
Turkish HDG Index moved downwards. The index value decreased by 5.96 percent week on week to 79.5.
 
Turkish CRC Index has not shown any changes in the given week. The index value remained at 83.56.
 
*Explanations:
 
Turkish Scrap Index: based on the weighted average of prices published by SteelOrbis of domestic ferrous scrap purchased weekly by Turkish steel mills, and imported HMS 80/20 CFR Turkey.
 
Turkish Rebar Index: based on the weighted average of prices published by SteelOrbis of commercial quality deformed steel reinforcing bars produced and sold by Turkish mills and subsequently merchants, both in the domestic market on ex-warehouse basis and for export on FOB Turkey basis.
 
Turkish HRC Index: based on the weighted average of prices published by SteelOrbis of commercial quality HRC produced or imported, and then sold by Turkish mills on ex-warehouse basis.
