Samuel, Son & Co. acquires US-based railcar components producer

Toronto, Canada-based Samuel, Son & Co., North America's fifth largest metal processor and distributor, announced Wednesday that it has acquired Gary, Indiana-based Stanrail Corporation, a designer, manufacturer and distributor of railcar components effective March 1, 2012.

Stanrail becomes part of the Roll Form Group, a division of Samuel. Rick Balaz, President of the Roll Form Group division, commented, "Stanrail has a broad customer base in the railway industry that will provide us with a significant opportunity to promote our components within the industry. Stanrail's engineering department will provide the Roll Form Group with enhanced resources in product development."
