SAIL’s finished steel sales rise in November

Indian state-owned steelmaker Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has announced that it achieved total finished steel sales of 970,000 mt in November of the current year, registering a 10 percent growth compared to the same month last year. The company's exports also accelerated, amounting to 61,000 mt during November this year, up three times year on year. During April-November 2013, SAIL's total exports increased by 72 percent year on year to 320,000 mt.
 
Earlier this week, SAIL commissioned the newly rebuilt coke oven battery No. 2 at the Durgapur steel plant a part of its ongoing capacity enhancement from the current 1.60 million mt of saleable steel to 2.12 million mt.
