SAIL’s crude steel output increases by 7% in August

Indian state-owned steel producer Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has posted a 7 percent year-on-year growth in crude steel production for August.

According to company's statement, SAIL has produced 1.16 million mt of crude steel in August 2012. Meanwhile SAIL's crude steel output amounted to 5.65 million mt up 3 percent in April-August period this year compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

In August this year productivity rate of SAIL's blast furnaces increased by 9 percent compared to August 2011.
