SAIL and CIL to develop coal mines in Mozambique

Indian steel producer Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) and Coal India Ltd (CIL) have reportedly applied to Mozambique government to develop coal mines in the country. As previously reported by SteelOrbis, world's second largest steel producer LNM has recently submitted bid to take on Mozambique Moatize coal project. The project is expected to be advantageous both for SAIL and CIL. The project is a part of SAIL's plan to develop mines abroad. SAIL is also in search to develop mines in Australia, Indonesia and South Africa.
