Germany-based long steel producer Saarstahl has announced that its subsidiary Drahtwerk St. Ingbert GmbH (DWI) has constructed a new pickling line for wire surface treatment. The investment amounted to €13.5 million.

According to Saarstahl, the high-performance pickling line built over a period of 18 months allows coatings of even higher quality and with greater homogeneity than previously. In particular, the manufacture of drawn cold-heading wire, which is primarily used in the production of components for the automotive industry, has now been integrated into the possibilities offered in St. Ingbert.
