S. Korea’s exports break record in October

South Korea's exports hit a record high in October as shipments of machinery, automobiles and ships increased. South Korea's Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy disclosed that the country's exports rose 13.4 percent year on year to $25.7 billion last month. The government expects increasing overseas sales of South Korean goods such as ships, automobiles and steel to support the economic growth. A rise in demand for technology products in the second half of this year is also an encouraging sign for the country's economic outlook. Economists indicate that competitive prices, high quality and a strengthening brand image of local products are fueling the demand.
