Finnish steelmaker Ruukki has signed a contract with Finland-based transportation company Cargotec to start manufacturing and supplying cabins from new locations in Ruukki's manufacturing network in Holic, Slovakia and Shanghai, China. The company said that the cabins are tested, fully-assembled and ready to install on mobile machines used in goods and container handling.

"This contract will strengthen our long-term cooperation in the cabin business with Ruukki. Since Cargotec operates globally, it is important that our partners are able to serve us with products of consistent quality in different locations at the right delivery time," says Peter Söderström, senior vice president, global sourcing, Cargotec.

"We can offer our customer a more comprehensive and competitive solution by supplying cabins not only from our Kurikka unit in Finland, but also from our Holic and Shanghai units, which are logistically close to the customer's own locations," says Patrik Jakobsson, senior vice president, cabins, booms and welded components, Ruukki.
