On January 25, the Finnish steelmaker Ruukki announced that it has decided to improve the efficiency of its construction operations at Vimpeli, Alajärvi and Peräseinäjoki in Finland and to transfer the manufacture of components for the engineering industry from Peräseinäjoki to other units. The employer-employee negotiations initiated in December last year have recently ended at these sites, with the loss of 52 jobs.

According to the company's statement, due to weak market conditions, it may also be necessary to implement temporary layoffs not only at the mentioned production sites, but also in the construction business development organization and in building construction sales.
