Russia's stainless steel exports up 26.9 percent in May from April

Russian exports of stainless steel products in the May this year increased by 26.9 percent month on month to 354,000 mt, according to Russia-based SpetsStal Association.
 
In May, exports of stainless steel flat products increased by 74.2 percent to 115 mt, exports of stainless seamless pipes rose by 240.5 percent to 143 mt, both month on month. In the given period, exports of stainless long products decreased by 58.7 percent to 45 mt, exports of electric welded stainless steel pipes decreased by 9.1 percent to 40 mt, exports of stainless steel billets went down by 83.3 percent to one metric ton, and exports of stainless pipe fittings decreased by 18.2 percent to nine metric tons, month on month. On the other hand, stainless steel wire rod exports were stable month on month.
 
In the January-May of the current year, Russian stainless steel exports decreased by 68.3 percent year on year to 1,436 mt.
