Russia’s pig iron output up 1.7 percent in June

Russia's pig iron production in June this year reached 4.3 million mt, up 1.7 percent compared to June 2014 and down by 4.3 percent compared to the previous month, according to Russia's Federal State Statistics Service.
 
Russian crude steel output in June amounted to 5.6 million mt, down by 7.5 percent year on year and decreasing by 4.3 percent to the previous month.
 
In the January-June period of the current year, Russia saw a 3.7 percent increase in its pig iron production, while output of crude steel decreased by 0.2 percent, both compared to the corresponding period of 2014.
