Russia's steel pipe consumption may rise by six percent in 2014

According to the preliminary data, in the January-October period of this year Russia registered a 7.6 percent increase year on year in its steel pipe output to 9.15 million mt. Domestic consumption of steel pipes in Russia in the given period amounted to 8.7 million mt, up 6.7 percent compared to the same period last year. In the first 10 months of this year, Russia's steel pipe imports decreased by 24.5 percent year on year to 561,000 mt, while its steel pipe exports declined by eight percent year on year to 1 million mt.

Overall in 2014, steel pipe consumption in Russia is expected to increase by six percent year on year to 10.3 million mt.
