Russia’s stainless steel imports down 17.6% in May from April

According to the Russia-based SpetsStal Association, Russian imports of stainless steel products in May this year decreased by 17.6 percent compared to April, falling to 17,928 mt. In particular, in May Russia's imports of stainless wire went down by 28 percent, stainless flat steel imports declined by 18.5 percent, imports of stainless ERW pipes decreased by 36.8 percent, stainless long steel imports decreased by 8.1 percent, and stainless billet imports moved down by 45.9 percent, all month on month. At the same time, Russia's imports of stainless seamless pipes increased by 26.7 percent compared to April.
