Russia's major steel producers reduce output in February

Russia's major steel producers reduced steel output in February in comparison with January's level. Thus, Severstal reduced the steel production from 1.02 million tons in January to 951,420 tons in February, MMK from 984,600 tons to 888,900 tons, NLMK from 790,000 tons to 711,000 tons, ZSMK from 618,000 tons to 536,000 tons, NTMK from 448,000 tons to 383,000 tons and NKMK from 294,000 tons to 201,000 tons. Only Mechel and Zlatoustovks MZ were able to slightly increase steel production. Mechel increased steel output from 392,000 tons in January to 424,000 tons in February and Zlatoustovks MZ from 38,380 tons to 39,932 tons.
