The Russian iron ore and steel producing company Metalloinvest Holding (Metalloinvest) has announced that its mining subsidiary Lebedinsky GOK has finished the reconstruction of its concentrate drying system.
The reconstruction included the upgrading of the gas supply and dust purification systems, the renovation of the drying drum, and the installation of new conveyor paths.
The renovated drying system will allow Lebedinsky GOK to increase the output volume of dry concentrate from 30,000 mt to 90,000mt, as the product in question sees a higher demand during the winter period.
The upgraded production technology enables the mill to reduce the content of water in dried concentrate by more than two thirds, thereby protecting the product from freezing and increasing its profitability in the raw material market. As a result, the content of water in the concentrate does not exceed three percent.
