In the January-April period of this year, Russia's ferrous metal imports increased by 3.4 percent year on year to 1.869 million mt, including 327,900 mt of steel tubes, up 21.4 percent year on year, according to the State Statistics Committee of Russia (Russtat). The total value of Russia's ferrous metal imports in January-April this year was $1.737 billion, down 3.7 percent year on year.
In the January-April period, Russia's ferrous metal exports decreased by 7.8 percent year on year to 11.935 million mt, including 956,300 mt of pig iron, down 29.5 percent year on year, according to Russtat. The total value of Russia's ferrous metal exports in January-April this year was $6.584 billion, down 14.6 percent year on year.
